We are a group of UK based Muslim charities whose primary goal is to provide humanitarian aid and assistance to the poorest and most vulnerable people around the world. We are members of Bond, the UK membership body for non-governmental organisations, and the NCVO (National Council of Voluntary Organisations), the largest umbrella for the voluntary and community sector in England.
We are an umbrella organisation whose aim is to provide a capacity building resource and advocacy platform for its members. The main areas of our work include:
Dialogue & Cooperation
- Facilitate and promote the cooperation and coordination among the Muslim led INGOs and provide a platform for dialogue and interaction
- Engage in dialogue and cooperation with groups of different faith and backgrounds
Capacity Building
- Promote best practices
- Provide tools, consultancy and expertise for the purpose of improving operational efficiency to deliver better services to beneficiaries and donors
- Provide a one stop service for the charitable sector in the UK and improve financial management and funding opportunities for member organizations
Understanding
- Promote a better understanding of the Muslim Charitable ethos, culture and practices
- Engage with government bodies, international agencies, private sector, key individuals local actors and civil society for better understanding of the principles and aims of the Muslim Charitable Sector
Bridge Building
- Become a bridge building tool between civil society and public organizations, such as government bodies (national and international), European Union, United Nations, as well as media outlets
- Serve as an advocacy and lobbying body for the Muslim Charitable Sector and its beneficiaries
