The Seminars are an opportunity for humanitarian leaders and NGOs to discuss and debate about various issues affecting NGOs around the world.

Meeting with the Libyan Diaspora
Continuing with our core work in bringing communities together and helping humanitarian NGOs work together, we held meeting with the Libyan community in the UK to see how they could address the humanitarian crisis in Libya. The meeting led to the creation of a joint initiative between the Libyan community and the NGOs to support the relief work taking place in Libya amongst the displaced people.
Meeting with Somali Diaspora
As part of bringing communities together, the MCF organised a meeting between different Somali community organisation based in the UK to see how they can work together to build stronger links with the community back in Somalia. We are working to facilitate support to ensure that the community here in the UK can work as effectively as possible to help their compatriots back home.

Pakistan Floods Meeting
In August 2010, Pakistan was hit with the worst floods in over 80 years leaving thousands dead and millions injured and homeless. During Ramadan, the British Muslim public donated generously to aid the humanitarian efforts in the Pakistan. But more was needed to be done.
This meeting was evaluating the humanitarian response in Pakistan from Muslim-Led NGOs and the next steps to take in regards to the humanitarian efforts in the country. Participants from 14 different organisations attended the meeting including the Disasters Emergency Committee, Oxfam and the British Red Cross.

Counter-Terrorism Policy and Development
Held at the Directory of Social Change, in London, the workshop was organized jointly by the Bond Conflict Policy Group, the Muslim Charities Forum and the Humanitarian Forum. Senior managers from various international Muslim and non-Muslim NGOs working in policy, programmes and finance were invited to participate in discussions about how Governmental and Inter-Governmental policies post September 11 and ‘the war on terror’ has impacted on human rights and International Development.
The purpose of this workshop was to look at how Counter-Terrorism had changed the way all INGO’s work both administratively and programmatically and the effect it had on humanitarian work. In addition, it was also a space for INGOs to share their experiences on how to move forward.

The challenges of providing Humanitarian Aid in Somalia
Held at Islamic Relief, in London, a discussion was organised between the Somali Red Crescent Society and the British Muslim-led NGOs. The seminar was led by Dr Ahmed Mohamed Hassan, President of the Somali Red Crescent Society in Somalia and covered the humanitarian situation in the country as well as the political issues affecting the humanitarian work in Somalia.

Emergency and Humanitarian Situation in Haiti
Held at NCVO, in London, and Islamic Relief, in Birmingham, Muslim and non-Muslim charities were invited to participate at 3 seminars to talk about the situation in Haiti after the earthquake. The aim was to highlight the issues affecting the delivery and coordination of aid and provide updates about NGO activities in Haiti with the aim of identifying ways to work together towards improved coordination of aid and develop effective long-term goals and strategies

Visit of Sudanese State Minister for Humanitarian Affairs
A dinner was organised in London for H.E Dr. Abdelbagi Gailani Ahmed, State Minister for Humanitarian Affairs of Sudan, with members of leading UK based Muslim-led NGOs working in Sudan, representatives of the Muslim Media and Community leaders. Dr. Abdelbagi Gailani Ahmed updated the attendees about the political and humanitarian situation in Sudan.
