Description: Muslim Charities Forum (MCF) is seeking a dynamic and highly connected Outreach Officer to act as the primary bridge between our central infrastructure and our network of over 300 charities across the UK. You will be responsible for driving sector engagement, connecting/supporting new grassroots organisations, and ensuring our regional members, particularly across Northern England, are actively connected to MCF’s advocacy and training initiatives. This is a high-impact, public-facing role that requires exceptional relationship management and a deep understanding of the unique strengths and operational challenges facing Muslim-led voluntary and community organisations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the secondary contact for current MCF members, building deep, trusted relationships with organisations.
  • Lead targeted outreach campaigns to identify, map, and onboard grassroots Muslim-led NGOs, particularly outside of London, to ensure plural and diverse sector representation.
  • Coordinate participant recruitment for MCF’s capacity-building initiatives, masterclasses, and national campaigns.
  • Reach out as and when directed by Membership Lead Fawaz Lone, to relevant organisations and individuals.
  • Represent MCF at sector conferences, network forums, and community events to champion the Muslim voluntary sector.

Person Specification

Willingness to undertake occasional travel across the UK for regional member visits.

Proven experience in community organising, stakeholder management, or network coordination within the UK charity sector. Or willingness to learn.

Deep familiarity with the landscape, cultural nuances, and challenges of Muslim-led civil society organisations.

Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to engage confidently with diverse audiences ranging from grassroots volunteers to senior executives.
