From right here in the UK to those countries already tackling drought and famine, there is no doubt that climate change is affecting us all. However it is often the world’s most vulnerable people who suffer the most.
MCF is supporting charities and organisations who are working to deliver ‘greener’ services to people in need through a variety of sustainable aid actions.
What are the #COP26 goals?
The #COP26 summit will bring parties together to accelerate action towards the goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
Emissions reduction – secure global net zero by mid-century and keep 1.5 degrees within reach. This includes the phase-out of coal, investment in renewable energy and curtail of deforestation.
Natural communities and habitats – countries must work together to protect and restore ecosystems, build defences, put warning systems in place and make infrastructure and agriculture more resilient.
Mobilise finance – developed countries must deliver on their promise to raise $100bn per year to achieve the #COP26 goals.
Working together – countries must finalise the Paris Rulebook and accelerate collaboration between governments, businesses and civil society.
