Charities providing support to humanitarian, peacebuilding and development action in contexts
affected by conflict and instability continue to face significant operational challenges when it comes to
financial access. Many experience delayed or cancelled financial transfers and undertake extensive,
expensive and sometimes abortive due diligence processes. Organisations also experience bank
account closures and increasingly limited opportunities to open new accounts.
This event will be a chance to hear firsthand the financial access challenges faced by NGOs and to
learn about initiatives in the UK and internationally to address the problems. We will be joined by
representatives from the banking sector, UK Government, and from organisations working on the
issue internationally, and there will be opportunities to network and share experience and lessons with
