Charity Advocacy 101: Influencing Change

DATE: This event took place on 3rd November and has now closed.

On Monday 3rd November, Muslim Charities Forum was delighted to hold our Charity Advocacy 101: Influencing Change – a full-day masterclass held at City Hall, London, and co-hosted by Hina Bokhari AM.

The event brought together small Muslim led charities and grassroots organisations from across London for a day of practical training in the fundamentals of advocacy equipping participants with the tools and confidence to engage with decision makers and influence policy on the issues that matter to their communities.

Participants took part in a series of insightful and engaging sessions led by expert facilitators, covering the key themes of Politics, Lobbying & Influencing, Charity Law & Campaigning, Stakeholders & Coalitions, and Media Engagement.

MCF extends our sincere thanks to our facilitators: Hina Bokhari AM, Abdi Aziz Suleiman (Political Affairs Lead, Friends of the Earth), Sotez Chowdhury (Director of Activism & Education, Amnesty International UK), Rizwana Hamid (Director, Centre for Media Monitoring), Suhan Rajkumar and Max Dowbenko (Charity Lawyers, Bates Wells).

This event marks an important milestone in MCF’s mission to strengthen and amplify the voice of British Muslim led charities and grassroots organisations. By building advocacy skills and confidence, we are empowering organisations to better represent their communities and drive meaningful social change.

Stay tuned for further capacity-building programmes in the New Year!
