Job Purpose
You will lead the core operations of the charity, ensuring smooth day-to-day delivery of our programmes, efficient processes, motivated team, and sustainable growth. Working closely with the CEO, you will drive operational improvements in a developing charity environment, with a strong focus on supporting vulnerable families.

Key Responsibilities (Core Operations Focus)
Lead and coordinate daily operations, aligning all activities with the charity’s mission.
Provide strategic input into short- and long-term planning as part of the senior leadership team.
Develop and refine operational policies, procedures and processes to improve efficiency.
Oversee programme delivery, ensuring high standards, smooth implementation and measurable outcomes for beneficiaries.
Manage the operational budget and resources responsibly.
Identify risks and ensure full compliance with UK charity law, regulations and internal policies.
Lead, mentor and develop a small dynamic team, including performance management and recruitment.
Support (as needed in a small charity): stakeholder engagement, fundraising events, volunteer coordination and outreach logistics.
Undertake any other reasonable duties required to support the charity’s work.

Essential Criteria (Mandatory – all applicants must meet these)
Minimum 3 years’ experience in operations or management roles (charity/non-profit experience preferred).
Full UK driving licence and access to your own car (essential for outreach and site visits).
Strong organisational, planning and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proven leadership and team-management experience.
Right to work in the UK.
Willingness to work flexibly (occasional evenings and weekends) and undergo an enhanced DBS check.

Desirable Criteria
Degree in a relevant field (MBA or equivalent advantageous).
Knowledge of the UK charity sector and regulations.
Experience in fundraising, grant writing or partnership building.
Background in an agile, start-up or small charity environment.
