Job Title: Events & Admin Coordinator

Location: London/Waterloo (SE1)

Salary: £25,000 (Full time)

Reporting to: The Chief Executive

Background 

The Muslim Charities Forum (MCF) is the UK network for British Muslim charities working for social good in the UK and internationally. Through our network, we aim to collectively build a more accountable, transparent and efficient British Muslim charitable sector, in order to improve our ability—both as individual organisations and as a sector—to contribute to a more just and sustainable world. Along with our member organisations, we work with a wider network of partners that includes non-member NGOs, regulatory bodies, civil society partners and the academia.

Job Purpose

The Events & Admin Coordinator has an important role in the day to day coordination, planning and implementing activities for MCF working closely with the CEO. The post holder will be the first point of contact for the organisation with regular communication with MCF members, Trustees, suppliers and other stakeholders, as well as responding to general enquiries and communication from the media via a range of communication platforms including; phone, email, website and in person at the office and during events. This role oversees the planning and delivery of the MCF’s innovative and inspiring events, which include; workshops, seminars, training, talks, MCF’s Annual General Meeting and occasionally, delegation trips abroad.

The role reports directly to the CEO and supports with administrative duties to ensure a well-organised office with updated processes and procedures and responsibility for managing office supplies and equipment, electronic and hard files, MCF’s database and accounts.

This is an important role, responsible for overseeing a range of activities and is suited to someone with a diverse skill set, who is well organised and adaptable to a busy office which responds to the evolving needs of our members and the charity sector. The post holder supports a number of functions along with responsibility for events you will take care of HR files, payroll, pensions payments and monitor financial transactions and expenses, preparing reports for the Board of Trustees.

You will be passionate about creating change in the Muslim Charity sector, to be part of a small team working responsibly with limited resources and adapting to competing work schedules, maintaining confidentiality at all times.

This role provides a unique opportunity to understand how NGO’s of different sizes operate in the UK and internationally and to contribute by being part of a team which supports charities to become more impactful, accountable and transparent.
