We are pleased to announce that we have joined two membership organisations as part of our commitment to tackling climate change: The Climate Coalition and Climate Action for Associations!

The Climate Coalition

Made up of over 140 organisations, The Climate Coalition is the UK’s biggest group of people committed to tackling climate change. Through their famous ‘Great Big Green Week’ campaign – which we have proudly been a part of since its inception in 2021, The Climate Coalition is advocating for the government to deliver on legislation which ultimately protects the Climate, People and Nature. Included in the campaign asks are; ensuring Government spending is in line with the promise to reach net zero, stop funding fossil fuels abroad and, protect and restore UK nature.

Climate Action for Associations

Through their partnerships with organisations across sectors, CAFA is calling on membership organisations to utilise their influence to take a stand against climate change by driving change within the sectors they represent. Committing to the UN ‘Race to Zero’ campaign, CAFA’s aim is to enable their members to implement sustainability programmes internally and measure their impacts to be able to address them and make organisational changes.

At MCF, we believe that as part of our role as Muslims, we should act as stewards on the Earth. This includes, doing what we can to ensure we look after the environment and protect it as best we can. Whether it be campaigning, planting trees and plants, or, making changes to your lifestyle – these steps all count as tangible actions that we can carry out to help address the devastating impacts of climate change and rise in global poverty.
